Program:

ChamberFest is pulling out all the stops by rounding off its fourth season at the Blackstone Organ House. This Bratenahl home, a jaw-dropping modern structure of glass and steel, is home to an equally resplendent custom-built organ that boasts over 7,000 pipes. A host of brilliant musicians, including the acclaimed Echo Saxophone Quartet, will gather to bring to life works that ingeniously evoke the American landscape from a variety of perspectives. Terry Riley, for instance, blended his American roots with a fascination in South Asian music and philosophy to produce his mesmerizing Tread on the Trail. This celebration of American border crossings concludes with Dvořák’s glorious tribute to the United States in his beloved string quintet in E-flat, written during the Czech composer’s inspirational summer holiday in Iowa. A festive picnic following the concert will bring this incredible season to a close!
